Rejoice, rejoice! A Sequence of Elizabethan Carols, Motets and Music for Viols with Fretwork

We are honoured and delighted to be invited to perform with world-leading consort of viols Fretwork, especially in such a key year for them as they commemorate the death of English Tudor composers William Byrd and Thomas Weelkes. Chorale and Fretwork bring to you a programme of carols, choral motets, and music for viols all from the Elizabethan period, including music by Byrd, Weelkes, Orlando Gibbons, Thomas Tomkins, John Amner and Anthony Holborne. Come and hear this beautiful music performed as originally intended on period instruments and at the original pitch. A must for both early music enthusiasts and those merely curious about England’s great musical history.
Tickets: £19, full price; £15 Friends of Leicestershire Chorale; £10 NUS/U19; £5 U13.
