The Light Invisible Within – Choral Music and Solo Song for Epiphany and Candlemas
A programme of choral music, organ interludes and solo song with a flavour of the Epiphany and Candlemas to help bring in the New Year; with Nick Scott-Burt organ.
Following two successful events last season, we’re very happy to return to the ancient and inspiring spaces within the beautiful, historic church of St Mary de Castro in Leicester City Centre. This time we present a spiritual sequence of choral music, solo song and organ interlude on a general theme of guiding light and touching on both the Epiphany and Candlemas. This concert will include music by Lassus, Eccard, Byrd, Tallis, Mendelssohn, Warlock, Burgon and John Rutter’s atypical and strikingly wonderful Hymn to the Creator of Light.
