DESCRIPTION:Tom Williams Conductor \nDavid Cowen Organ \nAvishka Edirisinghe Piano \nDanushka Edirisinghe ‘Cello \nLeicestershire Chorale is joined by talented young ‘cellist Danushka Edirisinghe and his pianist brother Avishka (a fomer choral scholar) for ravishing music by German romantic masters Johannes Brahms and Felix Mendelssohn. Our young Meisters will play music to include some of Brahms’ Sonata in E minor and Mendelssohn’s haunting Lied ohne Worte. This will bring balance to choral motets by Brahms\, Mendelssohn and the latter’s startling Te Deum in D major\, which at one point expands into a sixteen voice texture.
